November is the month of Thanksgiving. A time when we visit and spend time with family and friends.
But there are some of us who spend time serving our country and are without their immediate families. And with that said, this month will be dedicated to those who serve our country and put their lives on the line for our freedom and give US the opportunity to freely go about our Thanksgiving holiday.
I personally know our November Cub of the month and can say that he is truly a quality guy. He is passionate about our country, his life and being a Marine. With him there are NO games, NO beating around the bush, NO doubting (you always know where you stand with him) and he is definitely a loyal friend.
I am honored to call him my friend. He has on many occasions helped me to problem solve (he’s good at it) and see things in a different light. I find him to be kind, compassionate, and intelligent and CAN make you laugh in the most trying of times.

You are a Marine . . . Where are you stationed out of?
I recently joined 3d ANGLICO this year. We are one of the few airborne units in the Marine Corps.
 > What is your rank?
I am a Corporal
 > How many years have you been a Marine and what are your future plans with the Marine Corp?
I've been in for 6, and it's been good to me, so far. I plan to deploy to Afghanistan and see if I am willing to stay longer. Where else can you travel the world, have crazy times with some cool people and get paid for it?
> What city do you train out of?
We were originally out of Long Beach (Terminal Island). We just moved to Bell in September. Long Beach was a great place. And, it was only 3 minutes from my place.
 > What’s the best experience about being a Marine?
I would say it's the bonding and camaraderie you build when you're in the worst times with the best of people. It's not where you are, but who you're with that matter. And, I especially love the Marine Corps balls because we get to dress up and let loose. And, the hotel parties are absolutely sick. If you haven't been, you are seriously missing out.
> Do you find that you and your team are closely knit? And do you spend time together outside of where you are stationed?
We are very close knit. The great thing about my new unit is that we are a very small unit and we work in small, independent fire teams (4 man teams). And, the Marines at 3d ANGLICO just love to have fun. We do spend time outside of training. In fact, the last gathering we had was at Oktoberfest; GREAT TIME.
> I also know you are a college student, how many years have you been in school?
I've been going to school for almost 2 years, and I hate it. I just want to graduate and get out.
> What is your major?
Business
> What is your minor?
Deciding between history and economics
> What college do you attend and when will you be graduating?
I go to El Camino College, and I'm transferring to CSU Long Beach. I can get an AA by next spring, and I'm planning to graduate with a BS in Business from Long Beach by 2011.
> I also know you are into boxing . . . What kind of boxing do you do and what is your ranking?
I started off with traditional American boxing, and got into MMA last year. I am in the middleweight class.
> How many years have you been boxing? And how did you get interested in boxing?
About two years now. It's been something I was fascinated with. I admired the dedication and devotion that is in the sport. It's not like other sports where weight is not an issue or other team members help you. It's you against the world.
> How many wins?
I have won 7, so far.
> You study foreign languages. . What languages do you speak and what enticed you to learn different languages?
French, Spanish and German. I also know a bit of Russian and that furball-in-mouth one with the squiggly lines. I've always had a curiosity for languages since I was a kid. Now that I've applied it to real world situations, I have realized that I am good with my tongue.
> How will you apply these languages you have learned into your life?
I love meeting people from other countries and learning about them. And, what is great about finding someone from a different country is the curiosity and learning experience between the two people. Oh, and use it for military purposes. I was a translator (French) with my old unit. Go figure the guy who goofed off and slept in French class would someday assist in coordinating joint military operations with American and allied forces.
> Do you have any other hobbies?
I like to hang out at the beach a lot. We usually play football or surf sometimes. I admit I suck at surfing. But, it's good to get in the water.
> What is the last book you read and what were your thoughts on the book?
Host by Faith Hunter. I liked it a lot. I actually used to read Revelations in the Bible quite a lot, and this book just naturally appealed to me.
> What is the last movie you went to see?
Inglorious Bastards. I was watching it with a friend of mine, and she kept squeezing my arm every time they showed the gory stuff.
> What genre of movies do you like most?
I'm into action and comedy movies.
> If you were to watch an old movie on a rainy day with your ‘girl’, what movie might that be and why?
Either Dark Knight, Gladiator or 300. Most likely Dark Knight.
> Do you have any pets? If so what type and how old is your pet?
I have a dog. He is a Chihuahua/ miniature Doberman mix. He's like about 15ish.
> What do you enjoy most about your pet?
Dogs are like children that never grow up. They're loyal and always want affection. I could not date a girl who disliked or hated dogs. I mean, even Hitler liked dogs.
> What does the term ‘COUGAR’ mean to you?
A cougar is an older woman who can romance and teach a younger guy a lot of great things, and is willing to open up her mind to adventure. Most cougars I've met are generally already divorced and are looking for a younger guy to give bring some thrill to their life. The great thing about older women is that they are mostly willing to explore and are wiser and less inhibited, as opposed to their young GIRL counterparts. Now, not all women would jump at the opportunity to date a younger guy. But, a bit of class, maturity and persuasiveness can make even the most skeptical of women do things she's never imagined.
> Where would you take a ‘cougar’ out on a 1st date?
We'd have dinner, talk about stuff, and have drinks (1 or 2 since I don't really drink), and if we hit it off, we kiss......and.....we....
If we don't hit it off or it doesn't go well, that'll be the end of that.
> If anything could be possible, what ‘dream’ would you like to see fulfilled?
I would like to compete in a military MMA circuit. I understand the National Guard has had something like this in the works, and I'd like to get into that.
